Is LPG cars maintenance is high?

The people in the field are of the opinion that fitting the LPG kit in a car will definitely make the car more prone to breakdowns, and wear and tear is also high. What is true? Is it possible to fit a K.N free flow air filter for LPG vehicle? Iím heard that the filters get to be serviced regularly for LPG vehicles.

It’s all false just making sure you get an LPG kit fitted from the Best of Dealers/workshops filters need to be cleaned every 5000 kms which is normal.

It’s a false impression that if you fit the car with a CNG or LPG kit, your car will suffer breakdowns etc. Just keep getting regular service done and your car will run just fine.

Sir fitting an LPG kit neither increases nor decreases engine life what it does do is decrease the engine performance slightly and also reduce the running cost. Make sure you always fit the kit from the company itself or any dealer recognized workshop.

A car of a smaller engine like M800 and Alto is designed to run on petrol, but sometimes the cars power is not sufficient, and you have to race the engine and over injure it even if you run on petrol with 5 people on board. More will be the strain on the engine when you run on LPG. So, as time passes by racing the engine to get the pickup would be done without your knowledge. This significantly heats the engine and produces natural damage of wear and tear. That's why even Maruti has not introduced LPG in Alto and M800. Only on WagonR you have the LPG option as it has 1.1 ltr engines which can administer the stress.

When anyone installs the LPG kit, their main aim is economy and always run on LPG, their hearts would be pounding even if they run on petrol for few KM, which they would not have felt before the LPG kit installed. This factor also leads to solidification of petrol, when the petrol is more than 2 months old and damages the carburetor and the clogs the fuel injector in the case of MPFI cars. Here starts the issue, so always have the habit of running a good amount distance on petrol at start of the car and before you turn the car off in the evening. Also run, until the petrol tank is empty once every 3 months, then fill up with new petrol from a reputed station. Also flushing of the petrol tank every year helps a lot.

Not at all true, in fact with cars running on alternate fuels, maintenance required is less.
