Hyundai Verna fluidic petrol mileage issues

I own Hyundai Verna Fluidic petrol which has clocked 3.2K Kms and its 2.5 months old. As much as I know Hyundai claims 17-18 Kmpl mileage for Hyundai Verna Fluidic petrol on highway so as per that I should minimum get around 14-15 Kmpl but I am just getting around 10 Kmpl on Highway. I also own an Aveo 1.4 which claims 13-14 Kmpl and I get around 11-12 Kmpl so that is fine. If I drive both the car that means my driving is perfect so in this case there is no question of driving sense issue also. So can you guys let me know what would be the problem? I even took my car to the service centre they did gscan and told me that there were no codes and they even did the mileage test and there also they found good mileage of around 18-19 Kmpl. So I am confused what would be the problem? Can anyone help me out?

I think you should wait till your car runs around 5-10K Kms. After that much Kms have complete check your mileage, it would 100% increase 2-3 Kmpl as the car would be use to your driving skills and all the parts would also get free by that time. So it would increase your mileage.

Thank you for your reply but let me tell you as I have mentioned I have driven my car 3.2K Kms and I have seen many users who get average of around 14 Kmpl on Highway even if they have not completed 3k Kms on their Odometer. And from the day I got my car I am getting this much of mileage and if I drive in city then I just get around 7-8 Kmpl. I also had a defect in my suspensions as after many arguments with the service center guys they said that I was right and there is a defect in the suspension.

If you are getting only 7-8 Kmpl then it is very low. For this you just need to prove this to the company. As if you donít prove they wonít believe you. Just do one thing try and ECU reset and after that check your mileage if it helps you out. And if your car is drive by wire then it is easy to throttle body recalibration.

My car is driven by wire I think as I cannot see and wire going through the throttle body. I did try the EUC reset by removing the battery and pressing brakes but canít see any difference. When the Hyundai guys marked 1 liter mark the car got 22 Kmpl of reading. I had driven my car on 70-90 Kmph with AC on till the time I reached the service center after the test then to I just got around 10 Kmpl. So I told to the service center guys that you have manipulated the test but they are not ready to except.

You can do 1 thing take a service center guy with you fill the tank full and after that drive you car at around 80-100 Kmph. So if you do this, you can show him your problem of getting low mileage and he then can argue with you.

Nigel, for effective fuel consumption check does and ensure following: Fill in a reputed station till the auto cutoff (not brim). Then check air pressure is as recommended. Drive for about 50 to 100 Kms. Then repeat the tank filling in the same station and ensure tyre pressure was not reduced by more than 3 psi. This will give the best results for your FE. I am not sure what you are referring as mid?
