What causes a car tyre to burst??

    Hello..
Recently, i came to know about an accident in which the passenger -- a government staff on a Mahindra Bolero was killed on the spot, after the vehicle turned turtle due to a tyre burst in a National highway. The driver who sustained severe injuries managed to survive and is right now in hospital. He said that he was driving the car over 60kmph and suddenly he lost balance after one of the tyres burst.?

I want to know what are the reasons for a tyre to burst?? Kindly advice how to avoid such tyre bursts in future.. I am having a Ford Figo and after this incident I became doubtful whether I can drive over 60kmph or not?

What is the actual reason for a tyre to burst?? What are the precautions to avoid that??? does tyre burst happens in motorcycles too?? please share your inputs..

    Thanx

    Vijju

Actually now a days the sun is shining a lot with producing lots of heat and because of which the tyre gets heated a lot and it tends to burst. So for that you need to maintain the tyre and keep it as cool as possible.

Another reason is overspeeding. Lot of indian tyres are not meant for driving at high speeds-> 150kmph. the heat generated leads to the rubber getting weak and hence an accident
